The BVFMS has a variety of sound equipment for rental. Please contact the coordinators for the large or small sound equipment.

CD Duplicator

Purchased in 2003 with the help of the Bulkley Valley Folk Music Society, the Bulkley Valley Arts Council, and the Bulkley Valley Credit Union, the Bravo disc publisher has given local Northwest BC musicians a quick, low run, low cost alternative to the CD replication services of bigger centre's.

Managed by George Stokes and operated by Kevin Widen, the duplicator has so far produced 2000 CD's in it's first year of operation. Young bands like CDK and Clamour, along with more established artists such as Raghu and Jordy Walker have all had CD's published.

Along with Audio CD's the disc publisher can also create Enhanced Audio CD's, Photo-CD's, Video Discs, and Interactive Multi-Media CD-ROM's. Local Smithers visual artist Linda Stringfellow recently had her portfolio designed as an CD-ROM and then published using the BVFMS CD Duplicator.

As well as being able to duplicate mass quantities of discs the disc publisher is also capable of printing full colour labels directly onto the CD.

Costs

Costs are $2.50 per disc, plus an additional $20 setup fee for each master processed. After a master has been processed no additional setup charges will apply to future runs.

CD Duplication does not include the designing of a full CD label, printing of CD inlays, or the final manufacturing of CD jewel cases (packing or shrink wrapping). An in-house graphic designer, multi-media services, and audio recording, mixing, and mastering facilities are also available for additional cost, and must be organized separately.

The copyright of all content published using the CD Duplicator must be held or licensed. Unauthorized reproduction, duplication or public distribution or exhibition of copyrighted materials is strictly prohibited and is a violation of applicable laws.
