The Midsummer festival is 100% volunteer-powered. The Bulkley Valley
Folk Music Society annually brings together over 300 volunteers
to create Midsummer Festival magic... and we’d love to welcome
you onto our team.

12 hours are required for a volunteer weekend pass which includes meals!
CHILDREN’S AREA: Facilitate fun activities
offered for kids.
ENVIRONMENT: Assist with on-site recycling system,
to help us run a clean and environmentally friendly festival.
FIRST AID: Must hold a valid Level 3 license.
GATE: Collect admission and camping fees, monitor
ID and festival passes, direct traffic. Offer programs and answer
general questions. Some pre-festival training may be required.Cashier
experience an asset.
GROUNDS: : Assist in pre-festival set-up and post-festival
cleanup. Carpentry skills, independent work ability are definite
assets.
HOSPITALITY SERVICE: Work in kitchen providing
food to performers, staff and volunteers. Some pre- and post-festival
work may be required.
INSTRUMENT LOCKUP: : Provide responsible handling
and secure storage of performers’ instruments and equipment
MERCHANDISE: Sales of performer’s CDs and
festival merchandise. Experience in handling cash and related equipment.
Sales experience an asset.
JAMZONE: Help keep the atmosphere light and the
music happening at the acoustic Jam Zone. Suitable for born hosts
and confirmed people persons
SAFETY: Secure various areas of the event and
monitor passes; liaise with gate, campsite and other staff. Some
pre-festival training may be required. You'll need strong people
skills and the ability to be FIRM and friendly.
SANITATION CREW: Ensure that washrooms are kept
clean and supplied.
SHUTTLEBUS: Pick up and drop off performers, operate
public shuttle service from festival grounds. Valid Class 4 License
required.
SOUND/STAGE: Assisting production staff in staging
live bands. A hands-on job requiring related experience with sound
equipment, lights, stage management, etc.
VOLUNTEER CENTRE: Staff drop-in centre for volunteers,
ensure that volunteer labour flows where needed throughout the event.
Offer information to performers, staff, and festival-goers.
YOUTH CENTRE: Assist in providing youth workshops
and activities. Provide general information on youth related concerns
and topics. Provide security for youth when required.
SHIFT SUPERVISORS: Assist staff in co-ordinating,
scheduling, training and supervising (on-site) the volunteer teams.
Pre-event participation and extra hours required.
